Springtime in Alaska

One sure sign of spring in Alaska...the pussywillow catkins start to bloom!  I just love these trees and can't wait to see them again.   Hmmm...I'm wondering if I can't use some in a miniatures project.  Ya think?

Long time ago I saw pussywillow catkins (with tiny black no-hole bead 'eyes') placed in a mini box on a blanket, and labelled 'Persian kittens for sale'. It looked lovely!

Welcome home! I wish I were there with you for real, but I am with you in spirit. I lived in Anchorage for 3 years and every single day I was aware that I was living in the most wonderful, beautiful place on the planet.
Along the road (Jewel Creek Road) beside our house there were a lot of pussywillows. Your reminder brought tears to my eyes. Alaska is the only place I've lived that I truly miss. Can't wait to read your updates ~ especially that drive up the Alcan. Oh, and when was breakup? Has it happened yet?
