....too bad it won't really be seen! This staircase will pretty much be out of sight the way this dollhouse kit was made. To see it, one would have to look through the front door or the windows, but I will at least know it's there and all the work I put into it. It was stained in mahogany and walnut so as to match the colors in the parquet floor I've already completed. I just love the two-tone look of it! The original staircase that came with the kit was just the standard luan puzzle piece that comes with the GL line of kits. I couldn't have that in this dollhouse, so used the kit stairs as a template for my own custom creation. And it fits like a glove...absolutely perfect! I'm so pleased with how this has turned out. Now, I need to finish off the interior space of the foyer, where these stairs will go, so that I can put the stairs in and move on to the next area.
